Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize reduction in size of a breather system without providing a breather chamber particularly by forming a V-shaped space interposed between fore and rear cylinders into a breather chamber and putting this chamber in communication with a crank chamber through throttle holes. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate shaft 20 is provided in a V-shaped space interposed between fore and rear cylinders 9b, 9b'. Power of a crankshaft 15 is transmitted to cam shafts 26, 27, 26', 27' above the cylinders 9b, 9b' through the intermediate shaft 20. Further, the V-shaped space is formed in a breather chamber 30, emcompassing the intermediate shaft 20 and communicating to the exterior which is demarcated from an upper wall of a crank chamber 14. The breather chamber 30 is put into cummunication with the crank chamber 14 through throttle holes 29, 31, 32. That part of the V-shaped space where the intermediate shaft 20 is installed can also be used for the breather room 30.
