Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase a space around a rear side exhaust pipe, in an engine arranged with front and rear cylinders to V-shape, by vertically dividing a crank case, mounting a crankshaft to the mated surface of both upper and lower case parts and equipping a main shaft and subshaft to the lower case part. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder body 9 is formed so as to longitudinally arrange cylinders 9b, 9b' to a V-type, and a crank case is constituted from upper and lower two parts 13, 14, then the upper case part 13 is of construction combined with a lower part of the cylinder body 9. Then a crankshaft 16 is mounted in a state held between the both parts 13, 14 to the front part of a mated surface 15 in which the upper and lower case parts 13, 14 are placed at a face-to-face position. While a main shaft 19 and subshaft 20 in a transmission device are equipped to a rear part in the lower case part 14. In this way, a space for an exhaust pipe 10', extended from a cylinder head 9'a of the rear cylinder 9'b toward the rear, can be fully ensured to prevent an increase of exhaust resistance due to an unreasonable curve of the exhaust pipe 10'.
