Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency of a power source by connecting diodes in forward direction in series with the collector sides of two transistors in a bridge type switching power source, thereby eliminating the power loss produced at the transistors. CONSTITUTION:Two transistors 4, 5 and two capacitors 2, 3 connected in series between the lined of a DC power source 1 are connected in a bridge, and the primary coil of a transformer 10 is connected between the connecting point of the transistors 4, 5 and the connecting point of the capacitors 2, 3. Diodes 16, 17 are respectively connected in series and in forward direction at the collector sides of the two transistors 4, 5. According to this configuration, when one of a pair of transistors 4, 5 which perform alternately switching operation is switched to OFF due to power loss, the power loss produced at the other transistor can be eliminated.
