Abstract

PURPOSE: To greatly reduce the capacity of a transformer for rectifier, by connecting a diode to the positive and negative DC output terminals of a thyristor rectification circuit in parallel therewith at such polarity that the output voltage of the circuit is blocked.
CONSTITUTION: The transformer 1 for rectifier has two secondary windings 2, 3 to which thyristor rectification circuits 4, 5 are coupled. The diode 6 is connected to the DC output terminals of the thyristor rectification circuit 5 at the polarity shown in Fig. The thyristor rectification circuits 4, 5 are connected in series with each other so that their DC voltages are added to each other.
