Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the secular change of the refractive index and coloring, by using such specific monomer that the quantity of the monomer, which does not react, is very small because of a high polymerisability when a synthetic resin optical tansmission material is formed with this monomer. CONSTITUTION:A monomer Ma forming a network polymer Pa is polymerized partially and is formed to a shape like a bar or fibers by gelling, and a monomer Mb forming another polymer Pb is diffused and polymerized in this monomer Ma, thus obtaining an optical transmission material where the refractive index is reduced continuously from the center toward the outside in the radius direction. In this case, a monomer having >=2 acrylic acid radicals, >=2 methacrylic acid radicals, >=1 acrylic acid radicals and methacrylic radicals, >=1 acrylic acid radicals and vinyl ester radicals, or >=1 methacrylic acid radicals and vinyl ester radicals is used as the monomer Ma.
