Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out moisture content determination automatically for a specimen by automating charging, drying, discharging the specimen on a specimen tray that is conveyed by means of a conveyor which runs through a drying oven in which the direction of travelling can be freely reversed. CONSTITUTION:After the temperature of a drying oven 20 is raised to suitable temperature, one of lifting devices B is lowered to place one specimen tray 11 on a conveyor A and transfers the tray 11 to an elevator 6. A set amount of specimen is charged into the tray 11 from a chute 2, and while a levelling plate 26 is levelling the specimen top, the tray 11 is transferred to a base 9. Then, a cylinder 10 is operated to raise a balance 8, and the tray 11 is placed on the base 9, and the tray is off the conveyor A and the total weight of the specimen and the tray is weighed. After the weighing, a door 24 is raised and the tray 11 advanced into the drying oven 20 and it is clamped to its original position by means of a clamping claw 23. After this, when a preset time set by the timer installed on each lifting device B has elapsed, the tray 11 is placed on the conveyor A again, and it is weighed by the balance 8 to determine moisture amount.
