CONSTITUTION:Whether sample vessels 1 are mounted in sample vessel holding parts 2 which are being successively transferred to a sample suction position or not is detected. When it is detected that no sample vessels 1 are loaded in the holding parts 2, the operations of a reaction vessel feeder 9, a sample dispenser 4, a reagent dispenser 10 and measuring devices 14-20 are interrupted at the measurement timings for the samples put in the sample vessels to be loaded in the holding part 2 without changing the operations of a sample vessel holding part transfer device 3 and a reaction vessel holding part transfer device 8.
