Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the operation of a moving bed type blast furnace by charging a heat generating or absorbing agent to the hearth under the tuyere to control the temp. of a packed coke bed to a proper range. CONSTITUTION:Using a gas from supply inlets 11-13 a heat generating or absorbing material from a supply inlet 14 or 15 is injected into a granular coke bed 5 in a moving bed type blast furnace for smelting iron, copper or the like through a lance 4 attached to the furnace. The signal of a thermometer 10 attached to the lance 4 is inputted in a blowing rate controller 17, and the amount of the injected heat generating or absorbing material is regulated to control the temp. of the granular coke bed 5 at the central part 1 of the hearth to a proper range.
