Abstract

PURPOSE:To narrow the width of a magnetism generating body by magnetizing said body in the relative moving direction of a magnetic head and said body and disposing the magnetic head in the magnetization direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:A magnetism generating body 10 is magnetized in the direction X where it moves relatively with a magnetic head 20. The head 20 is provided with the flat platelike saturable core 21 and the 2nd saturable core 22 in parallel with the magnetization direction X of the body 10. A coil 23 for detecting position is wound around the core 21 and a coil 24 for detecting gate is wound around the core 22.
