Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a displacement converter having no mechanical contact mechanisms by moving a permanent magnet in correspondence to displacements, and detecting the movement of said permanent magnet with a coil wound on a soft magnetic material opposed to the permanent magnet.
CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet 5 is fixed via a connecting member 4 to a movable body 3. The magnet 5 is pressed rightward by means of a spring 6. A soft magnetic material 7 is disposed in parallel to the axial direction of the magnet 5, and a coil 9 is wound on the outside circumference thereof. When the magnet 5 displaces in a left direction, the mangetic flux interlinking to the material 7 changes and therefore the time until coil current attains a prescribed level since the application of voltage to the coil 9 changes. The displacement of a moving body 3 is detected by this change in the time.
