Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the tooth profile efficiently, by obtaining a tooth profile error curve from the tooth profile errors of a gear and the arc length of the involute of the tooth surface. CONSTITUTION:The gear G is fixed to a dividing table TB. The table TB is rotated by the command from an NC device NCI. A rotary signal theta is outputted from a rotary encoder RE through the NCI. A length measuring device LE outputs the pulse signal for displacement X from the reference position of the tooth surface to a counter CUa. The output from the counter CUa and the output from the NC device NCI are inputted to AND circuits A1 and A2 through interfaces IFa and IFb, respectively, and further inputted to a CPU, together with the clock pulses from a pulse oscillator OSC and a counter CUb. Meanwhile, modules m, the number of teeth Z, pressure angles alphas, measuring points n, and the like are stored in a memory MR. Based on the signals of the tooth error epsilon and the arc lengths l, the tooth error curve is plotted on an XY plotter PLT. Thus tooth profile can be efficiently measured.
