Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the fuel injection timing of a diesel engine with high accuracy, by employing such an arrangement that the fuel injection timing under a steady or transient state can be adjusted automatically to an aimed injection timing determined by either of a digital switch or a memory for storing fuel injection timing controlling patterns. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus of this invention comprises a crank angle sensor 1, a reference signal sensor 2 and a fuel injection sensor 3, and the outputs of these sensors are applied to a counter 7 after shaping their waveforms respectively at buffers 4-6. The counter 7 resets the counted value when an output is produced from a second buffer 5 and counts the output of a first buffer 4 until an output is produced from a third buffer 6. The output of the counter 7 is applied, after A/D conversion at 8, to a subtracter 9, at which it is subtracted from either of the output of a digital switch 10 capable of determining the injection timing freely or the output of a pattern memory 13 which produces an injection timing signal in response to the operational conditions of engine. Fuel pressure is adjusted by controlling a solenoid valve driving unit 18 in response to the output obtained by integrating (at 15) the differential output of the subtracter 9.
