Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the snap-in or snap-out of an optical connector with a one- touch operation, by forming a projection or a recess at a part of the snap part of the optical connector and then forming a recess or projection to the outer wall of a plug inserting part which is fitted to the projection or the recess of the snap part, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An optical module is formed by adhering a mold boty 23 into which a lead frame 22 connected electrically to a peripheral circuit IC element 21 containing a light emitting element or a photodetector to a main body part 25 having an optical connector inserting part 24. A snap part 43 is held by hand and a plag 41 is inserted into a plug inserting hole part 28 of the part 24. Then a locking part 43 is pushed inward. As a result, an end face 41a of the plug 41 abuts on the mold body 23, and at the same time a projection 44 of the snap part 43 falls into a recess 29 on the outer wall of the part 24. Thus an optical connector is snapped in, and the plug 41 is held by the optical module.
