Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce tensile stresses by the weld metals between structural materials and press contacting materials and to prevent the exfoliation of a press- fixed layer in a welded structural body of different kind of metals by decreasing the wall thickness in the end parts of the press contacting materials gradually. CONSTITUTION:Thickness reduced surfaces 15 tapered at corners are formed in both end parts of press contacting materials 11 and 12. In the case of forming a cruciform-shaped joint by a structural material 2 and a structural material 4 with a press contacting material 1 held therebetween, both end parts of the material 1 have small bending rigidity and therefore despite the formation of weld metals 3 and 5 by arc welding or the like, the tensile stresses to the extent of tearing off a press-fixed layer 13 are not exerted upon both end faces of the material 1 and said layers are difficult to peel.
