Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise sludge concentration and to enable high-load purification, by arranging a reaction vessel in which a plurality of active sludge-retaining filler layer blocks are parallelly located, and an oxygen-contng. gas-supply passage provided with a switchgear at the lower part of the filler layers.
CONSTITUTION: Active sludge-suspending water, to be purified, is fed into a reaction vessel 4 in which a plurality of the blocks 10 of filler layers 9 for retaining the active sludge are parallelly located, in a manner such that the water flows along the parallel arrangement of the blocks 10. A passage r1, r2, r3 to feed oxygen-contng. gas from the lower side of the filler layer 9 is connected to each of the blocks 10, and a switchgear 15, which rebelliously alternatively presents an aerated condition and an unaerated condition in adjacent blocks 10, is attached to each of said passages. Owing to this constitution, sludge concentration can be raised, and high-load treatment can be well performed. Moreover, purification can be well performed with high efficiency.
