Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the adsorbing efficiency, in an apparatus and method for adsorbing sulfur oxide in an exhaust gas, by downwardly inclining the bottom plate of a moving layer adsorbing tower toward an exhaust gas inflow side to accelerate an adsorbent moving speed.
CONSTITUTION: The wall surfaces 3, 4 of the inflow and the outflow sides of an exhaust gas G are formed from a perpendicular surface having plural small pores 5 for passing the exhaust gas formed thereto. The bottom plate 7 is formed so as to be downwardly inclined toward an adsorbent discharge port 6 and the inclination angle L thereof is made equal to or steeper than angle of repose of the adsorbent. By this structure, because the movement of the adsorbent 2 is accelerated as the adsorbent 2 is approached to the inflow side of the exhaust gas G having high SO2 concn. and containing a large amount of dust, the adsorption of SO2 is carried out on an average both in the inflow and the outflow sides of the exhaust gas and, as a whole, high adsorbing efficiency is obtained in a small adsorbent moving amount.
