Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The pyridonecarboxylic acid derivative of formulaI(R1 is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, or halogen-substituted lower alkyl; R2 is H or F; R3 and R4 are H, lower alkyl or aryl; X is C or N; Y is alkali metal or amine; n is 0 or 1; n is 1 when X is C, and n is 0 when X is N; n' is 0 or 1), or its salt.
EXAMPLE: 1-( 3-Carboxy-1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1, 4-dihydro-4-oxo-7-quinolyl ) piperazine- 4-methanesulfonic acid sodium salt.
USE: Antibacterial agent having strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and useful for the remedy of various infections diseases.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared, e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III in the preseuce of the compound of formula IV in an inert solvent at room temperature W 100°C.
