Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a complete treatment of the captioned waste liquid by a method wherein a waste liquid containing heavy metals discharged from plating factories is burned and a part of the liquid is treated by coagulating sedimentation using an iron salt/alkali solution and the sediment is concreted after being mixed into softened asphalt/synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:Waste liquid containing heavy metals reserved in a waste liquid tank 2 is poured into an incinerator from an inlet pipe 3, stays on a fire grate 4, and is burned by a gas burner 5. A part of heavy metals falls and accumulates in an ash receiver 6 and the rest of heavy metals is conveyed with gas using a fan 7 through a gas duct 8 and supplied into a reactor 9. The above gas reacts and precipitates as a complex salt of heavy metal ion and iron ion because of existence of equivalent iron salt and alkali solution and the complex salt accumulates in a hopper 9a. The sediment is concreted after dropped from a magnetic cock 19 to a receiver 20, delivered from a delivery hole 21, and mixed into softened asphalt/synthetic resin.
