Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out the adsorption and desorption of ozone in a short time, by furnishing a cooling tube and a heating tube with a plurality of heat-transfer plates extending in the ozone adsorbing substance and contacting with said substance, thereby enlarging the heat transfer area.
CONSTITUTION: The ozone adsorption and desorption column is composed of the column body packed with the ozone adsorbent, the cooling tube through which a cooling medium for cooling the ozone adsorbent is passed in case of ozone adsorption, and the heating tube through which an antifreeze liquid for heating the ozone adsorbent is passed in case of ozone desorption. At least one of the cooling tube and the heating tube, e.g. the heating tube 63, is furnished with a plurality of heat transfer plates 80 firmly by welding. The plate 80 is extended into the ozone adsorbent 40 and made to contact with said adsorbent. The heat transfer efficiency can be further improved by boring a plurality of holes to each heat transfer plate 80.
