Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the operation time of a coolant compressor of an automobile air conditioner within such a range that comfortableness is not lost, by providing flags in a microcomputer for the control factors of the compressor to regulate it in an overall manner. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner is controlled by a microcomputer 1 comprising a processing unit 1a, a read-only memory 1b, a data establishment memory 1c and an input register 1d. The coolant compressor 19 of the air conditioner is controlled as to three factors of outside temperature, inside temperature and humidity. When the stoppage of a blower motor 10 which is stored in the data establishment memory 1C is effected or when the outside air temperature is not higher than 5 deg.C, the coolant compressor 19 is stopped. When the outside air temperature is not higher than 15 deg.C and cooling is not needed but dehumidification is needed, the compressor 19 is driven to dehumidify by an evaporator 18. For the respective factors, flags are read out from the data establishment memory 1C to perform overall control.
