Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to obtain a selective absorption surface capable of absorbing solar energy efficiently, by diluting a paint consisting of a particular resin and an inorganic black pigment having grain sizes within a particular range by use of a solvent added at a particular rate to be treated and then heating the paint applied over the metal surface for forming a film of the paint thereon. CONSTITUTION:A paint having main solids content consisting of an inorganic black pigment and more than one resins selected from a group of acrylic resins and silicone resins is diluted with a solvent such that the total solids content of the paint lies within the range of 10-17wt%. The paint thus diluted is applied over a metal surface to be treated and then heated for forming a coating film having a thickness of 2-5mum. Here, more than one oxides or composite oxides of elements selected from Fe, Mn, Cu, Cr, Co and Ni, having grain sizes within the range of 0.01-0.5mum, are used as the inorganic black pigment. By employing such a method, it is enabled to obtain a selective absorption film having a solar energy absorptivity of 0.93-0.95 and an emissivity of 0.35-0.50.
