Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the tool exchanging time by a method wherein a tool head is fixed to a tool holder main body with a moving pin contained within the tool holder main body in the cutting tool, in which the tool head is made to be divided from and fixed to the tool holder main body. CONSTITUTION:The tool haed 2 with a cutting edge 3 is divided from the tool holder main body 1 and the jointing part of the tool head 2 and the tool holder main body 1 is composed of a dovetail 4 and a dovetail groove 5. With the turning of a bolt 16 within the tool holder main body 1, the bolt 16 is brought into contact with the slant face 15 of the moving pin 6 and consequently moves the moving pin 6 toward the direction as indicated with the arrow A. The moving pin 6 pivots itself with a steel ball 19 as a fulcrum so as to push the tool head 2 toward the direction as indicated with the arrow B. The tool head 2 is locked by the wedge action between the dovetail of the moving pin 6 and the dovetail 4 integrally provided with the tool holder main body 1.
