Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the precision of a cut dimension by a method wherein a work is cut as a die is brought relatively into elastic contact with a cutter and the clearance between the cutter and the die is kept always at zero when the work is being cut.
CONSTITUTION: When an electrode 17 screwed in a base 18 is rotated right, the electrode 17 advances and pushes the back of a die 11. The die 11 is advanced by this push action and comes in contact with the cutter 10. When the electrode 17 is advanced further under such a state, a preliminary pressure is given between the cutter 10 and the die 11. When under this state a work 1 is cut by the cooperation of the cutter 10 and the die 11, the clearance between the cutter 10 and the surface of the die 11 always is kept at zero by the deforming pressure of the cutter 10 and the work 1 can be cut off with dimensional precision.
