Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the perfect electric charge by friction, by setting the supply amount of toner at <=30mg for a toner supply device per operation and then stirring completely the toner with the carrier. CONSTITUTION:A supply roll 10 is set at the lower part of a funnel-shaped hopper 9 which stores the toner and is turned by a motor connected directly to the roll 10. The toner is consecutively carried from the hopper 9 by a little amount by the roll 10 by means of fine grooves or small hollows formed on the surface of the roll 10. A scraper 11 for the roll 10 has a form of a plate spring and presses the roll 10 to scrape off the toner with its tip part and to carry the scraped toner to a sink 4 of developer. An end of an upper scraper 12 keeps a proper gap to a development sleeve 2 and scrapes off the upper layer part of the developer on the circumference surface of the sleeve 2 to send it to the sink 4 along the slope. In such a way, a proper amount of toner is supplied to be mixed and stirred with the electric charge by friction. Thus the scattering of toner and the lowering of picture quality can be prevented.
