Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently prevent the resonance of a coiled spring without changing its properties, by stretching the coiled spring from the point of inflection in the curve of deflection versus natural frequency. CONSTITUTION:A coiled spring is composed of a coiled part 1 made by winding a single wire and hooks 2 located at both the ends of the coiled part. The turns of the coiled part 1 are divided into a first and a second groups 1a, 1b bordering each other at the middle of the length of the coiled part. Initial tension is applied to the first group 1a but no initial tension is applied to the second group 1b. The spring is stretched from the point of inflection in the curve of deflection versus natural frequency or from the vicinity of the point so that the resonance of the spring is prevented.
