Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the presence or absence of putrefaction with a total number of products non-destructively without contacting by irradiating microwaves to the part of the wall of a vessel where microwaves transmit, and detecting the difference between the incident power and reflected power thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The microwaves emitted from a microwave oscillator 16 is conducted via an isolator 18, a microwave incident power monitor 20 to a microwave irradiation camber 22, where they irradiate a vessel 10 in the chamber. The microwaves in the chamber are stirred by a stirrer fan 26, and are uniformly irradiated to the contents through th wall of the synthetic resin of the vessel body 10. The reflected waves are conducted from the chamber 22 through a waveguide to a reflected power detector 30. On the other hand, the incident waves are conducted to an incident power detector 28, and the difference between both is operated with an arithmetic circuit 32.
