Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten the accuracy of screw cutting, by effecting external setting to correct the irregularity of the lead of the screw which is caused by the load fluctuation or the like during the screw cutting, from the halfway part of the length of the screw. CONSTITUTION:A screw cutting instruction, a screw lead F, a screw length L and rotational frequency S for a main shaft are entered from an input program. A screw lead correction value + or -f is set in a lead correction register 9 through an external setting switch 40. A value ''1'' for determining the point of starting of correction is set in a correction register 10. Screw cutting is thus effected with the prescribed lead F. When the content of a residual distance register 7 has become equal to the value ''1'' of the register 10, a judgment circuit 11 is turned on so that the correction value + or -f set in the register 9 is transmitted from an AND gate 12 to a calculator 13, which makes a calculation ''F+ or -f''. The output of the calculator 13 is applied to a feed speed control circuit 5. A speed instruction for moving a tool rest in cooperation with the rotational frequency S for the main shaft is compensated by + or -f to perform the screw cutting with the lead F compensated to F+ or -f.
