CONSTITUTION:When a speed light is used, an L-level signal is outputted from an information setting part 700, an AND circuit AND1 generates an L-level output, and the output of an OR circuit OR2 coincides with the output of a comparing circuit 27. Consequently, gates 30 and 31 are opened or closed according to a difference DELTAP between maximum brightness Pmax and minimum brightness Pmin, and average brightness Pmean or an internal division value PL between the average brightness and minimum brightness is inputted to an APEX arithmetic circuit 300. When the maximum brightness is greater than a reference value Pth, a display controlling part 400 and an exposure controlling part 500 are driven on the basis of the arithmetic result of the circuit 300 to select daylight flash photography, but when not, control irrelative to the arithmetic result is performed to select general flash photography.
