Abstract

PURPOSE:To make automatic changing over to daytime synchro-flash photographing possible when daytime synchronization is necessary by deciding photographing modes in accordance with the output of a spot photometric element and an average photometric element. CONSTITUTION:A spot photographic element 1 which measures the central part of the image to be photographed ih a spotlike manner and an average photometric element 3 which measures the image light of the entire part of the image in an average manner are provided. The photometric values of both elements are averaged 6, and are compared 8 with a predetermined set value 9, whereby whether ordinary photographing or synchro-flash photographing is decided. Also, the photometric values of both elements are compared 7, and when the photometric value of the elements 1 is smaller as compared to the photometric value of the element 3, daytime synchro-flash photographing is indicated. Hence, if a strobe switch 14 is beforehand turned on, whether ordinary photographing or synchro-flash photographing is automatically decided, and in the daylight photographing under rear light, the daylight synchro-flash photographing is accomplished automatically.
