Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a feeder section unit which is designed to minimize the section of service interruption caused by accident, etc. by changing over a gate circuit during the operating failure of a theoretical circuit, and by supplying electricity through only one thristor to enable cars to make powered drive. CONSTITUTION:A trolley car 10 is assumed to be in the segment 3 of the first feeder section. If the theoretical circuit 111 of the first feeder section unit 8 fails, a trouble detector detects the failure and changes over the selector switches 114 and 114 from the contact (a) to the contact (b) and thus forms the second gate circuit. As a result, the voltage applied to a connection terminal 13 is amplified by the first gate amplifier 112, thereby producing a constant conductive state for the first thyristor 801. With this construction, the segment 3 of the first section receives electric power from the first feeder section 1 irrespective of powered running or regeneration running of the trolley car 10. As the operation of the second feeder section unit 9 is constantly normal, the section of service interruption caused by accident or trouble does not extend, even if the trolley car 10 runs across both segments 3 and 4 of the first and second feeder sections.
