Abstract

PURPOSE:To set a printing paper sheet at a prescribed position so that characters to be printed are printed accurately between ruled lines, by detecting the ruled lines and feeding the sheet according to a detection signal in a printer for which the printing paper sheet having the ruled lines. CONSTITUTION:When a ruled line 4 passes a measuring part in the course of line feeding of a printing paper sheet 1, a light from a luminous diode 5 made to emit the light by a power source 7 is detected as a reflected light from the sheet 1 by a transistor 6 and thereby an output level of an output (a) is raised. The waveform of the output (a) is rectified and inputted in a flip-flop 9 as a waveform (b) and the flip-flop 9 is set at the rise of the waveform (b), whereby an output (c) is obtained. By monitoring the signal of the output (c), a feed control circuit 11 feeds the sheet 1 in such a manner that the ruled line 4 of the sheet 1 comes to a prescribed position in relation to a printing head 3, and when it comes to the position, the circuit 11 operates to stop a feed mechanism 10 and delivers a signal (e) of permitting the start of printing.
