A letter input counter 31 is up-counted or down-counted by this signal UP or DN and a desired letter code is selected to be set in the counter 31. Next, by operating a switch S3 the content in the counter 31 is held in memory in the address of a plurality of addresses in a letter memory circuit 10 specified by an addressing counter 35. In this simple operation a desired letter can be input.
