Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform good control of an engine for its starting and warm up operations, in an open-close control valve device adapted and engaged to a temperature sensing member in a mixture bypass passage, by forming the temperature sensing member to a two-stage operating type in which the member is adapted and engaged at each position of its forward and backward movement. CONSTITUTION:At starting when an engine is cold, a temperature sensing member 12 is titled rightward in accordance with a decrease of temperature, and a control valve 6 is pressed by a spring 11 and moved rightward then adapted to the temperature sensing member 12 at a front stepped part 17 thus opened. If the engine is started, cranking negative pressure is applied to a bypass passage 5 to feed a rich mixture to the engine 1, and negative pressure generated by perfect explosion passes through a diaphragm 13 to act on the valve 6 and move the valve leftward to its closing side. At this time, the valve 6 is adapted to the temperature sensing member 12 at a rear stepped part 18 and controlled in a forward movement position. That is, the valve is moved to its closing side in accordance with warm up operation to perform prescribed control to a mixture, if the warm up operation is completed, the valve 6 is further moved forward and fully closed, and the bypass passage 5 stops feeding a starting mixture.
