Abstract

PURPOSE: A composition having improved flame retardance and low smoke injury without lowering mechanical characteristics, obtained by blending a low- crystalline ethylene copolymer with an inorganic flame-retardant treated with a titanate type coupling agent.
CONSTITUTION: A low-crystalline ethylene copolymer is blended with an inorganic flame-retardant treated with a titanate type coupling agent. A single polymer obtained by copolymerizing ethylene with ≥10mol% propylene, butene, etc., having a crystalinity of ≤30%, its mixture, and a polymer obtained by crosslinking them may be cited as the low-crystalline ethylene copolymer.
USE: Preferably useful as a covering material for electric wire cable.
