Abstract

PURPOSE:The title composition having improved electrical insulating properties, flexibility, and heat resistance, prepared by incorporating a chlorinated polyethylene with an ethylene-propylene copolymer, a mineral filler, and an organic peroxide crosslinking agent to give a specific chlorine content. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100 parts by wt. of a blend of (a) a chlorinated polyethylene with a crystallinity <=10%, (b) an ethylene-propylene copolymer with an ethylene content of 60-90wt.% and a Mooney viscosity (ML1+4, 100 deg.C) of 10-70, and (C) 20wt.% or less of a polyolefin resin, e.g. polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer is incorporated with (B) 80 parts by wt. of less of a mineral filler, e.g. talc or clay, and (C) a small amount of an organic peroxide crosslinking agent to give a chlorine content in the composition of 10-20wt%.
