Abstract

An insulating material for electric cables contains (a) an olefinic (co)polumer such as low or high density polyethylene, chemically crosslinked polyethylene, ethylene-propylene copolymers, or polypropylene; (5) 5-30 wt. % TiO2; and (c) 5-25 wt. % (w.r.t. the TiO2) of a silane. From 0.1-5 wt. % of >=1 additive(s) can also be incorporated for stabilisation in tension and to avoid oxidn. The cable insulation has improved resistance to ageing.
