Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce a zinc electroplated steel plate which is alloyed on one side and has a cold rolled surface of good corrosion resistance by electroplating zinc on one side of a steel plate in a chloride bath thence subjecting the same to an alloying treatment in a non-oxidative atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: While the thickening of impurity elements of a non-plated surface is prevented, the one side of a steel plate is electroplated with zinc in a chloride bath. The chloride consists essentially of ZnCl2 and the concn. thereof is set at about 100W350g/l. NH4Cl, KCl, NaCl, AlCl3, CaCl2, BaCl2, etc. can be utilized for additives thereto. After the plating, the plating soln. adhered on the steel plate is washed off, and after the steel plate is dried, it is alloyed in a heating furnace of a non-oxidative atmosphere. The steel plate obtained by this method has good chemical treatment characteristic of the cold rolled surface and provides good paintability.
