Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a color original reader of less color deviation with a small- sized and simple constitution, by equalizing focusing magnifications of respective focusing means to one another and allowing respective focus surfaces on the same plane in the device which reads light fluxes different in color component. CONSTITUTION:A read line 30 on an original 1 is focused onto a solid sensor array 28 on a substrate 27 through lenses 21-1-21-n for reading red components, a stop plate 23, and a filter 25 through which red components are transmitted. A read line 31 is focused onto a solid sensor array 29 through lenses 22-1-22-n for reading cyanine components, the stop plate 23, and a filter 26 through which cyanine components are transmitted. The output of cyanine components from the sensor array 29 is delayed by a time required for carrying the original for the length between lines 31 and 30 and is inputted to a color discriminating logic circuit together with the output of red compnents from the sensor array 28, and two colors, red and black are discriminated. Distances from object faces to picture surfaces and focusing magnifications in center wavelengths of respective color components in reading lenses are equalized to one another to not only make the device small-size and reduce the color deviation.
