Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate noise from picture signals in real time by providing a simple optical processing means.
CONSTITUTION: Writing light P1 is irradiated to input face F1, and the original picture is sent and written onto space modulation element SLM through lenses L1 and L2 and half-mirror HM. Meanwhile, the light reflected by mirror HM and passing through lenses L2 and L5 is led to output face F0 to form an image. Next, reading light P2 of the dead wave length of element SLM is irradiated form the back face of element SLM through lens L3, aperture S and lens L4. Here, linear polarization plates PO1 and PO2 having polarization directions orthogonal to each other are provided in front and back of element SLM to form a read image, and the read image is sent to output face F0 through a lens. By this constitution, reading light P2 passes through element SLM and is incident from plate PO1 as an optical image having light quantity distribution corresponding to the polarization face rotated by the light quantity of a noise part other than a dark part and is inputted onto output face F0 to obtain the read image. As a result, on output face F0, the light quantity of the noise part is increased, and an output image which has this most part eliminated can be obtained.
