Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove the back ground disturbance, by a method wherein the ON- OFF difference of light, synchronized with the incoming light signals divided periodically by a chopper, is amplified. CONSTITUTION:The incident light 2 is divided into two by a mirror 10. A chopper 2 is set behind the mirror 10 and in the first half period of the chopper movement, the incident light strikes a mirror 9 of high reflectance and in the second half period, it strikes a test sample 8. By this measure, the signal of difference between the reflected light by the mirror 9 and that of the test sample 8 enters into a locked-in amplifier as input. Accordingly, the effect of light absorption by the presence of water vapour, for example, is removed and only the light absorption characteristics of the test sample can be measured.
