Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve stability against light without deteriorating the hue and purity of an organic light absorptive substance, especially a dye, by adding the organic light absorptive substance and a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by the right formula in which M is Pt, Ni, or Pd and X1-4 are O or S; and an organic light-absorber having maximum absorption approximately within 300-800nm wavelengths, such as a coupler forming a yellow image; and a hydroquinone derivative are dissolved in a high boiling-point solvent, such as tricresyl phosphate and/or a low boiling-point solvent, such as ethyl acetate, and this solution is mixed with an aqueous hydrophilic binder solution containing an anionic and/or a nonionic surfactant to make an emulsified dispersion, and it is mixed with a silver halide emulsion to give an emulsified liquid. This emulsion is coated on a substrate so as to give a 10- 10<4> micromols/m<2> organic light absorber, thus permitting a silver halide color photographic material to be obtained.
