Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent welded sections of the titled heat collector from being damaged due to thermal stress by a method wherein heat transfer pipes each including a flexible tube section interposed midway along the pipe are passed through a heat accumulating capsule so that the flexible tube section serves as a thermal stress damper. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas 1 flows through heat transfer pipes 5 provided in a heat accumulating capsule 7. In this case, the heat of the exhaust gas is stored in a heat accumulating material through the walls of the heat transfer pipes 5. Thus, when the exhaust gas is flowed all at once through the heat accumulating capsule 7, the heat transfer pipes are heated to a high temperature to expand. To prevent this, the flexible tubes 6 are connected to the heat transfer pipes 5 midway along the pipes, respectively, so that each of the flexible tubes serves as the thermal stress damper to thereby prevent the welded sections of the heat accumulator from being damaged.
