Abstract

PURPOSE:To clean the surface of a cold-rolled steel strip inexpensively and injecting the emulsion of a rolling mill lubricant under high pressure to said surfaces then annealing the steel strip in a gas of specific compsn. CONSTITUTION:In a cold rolling stage, a steel strip is injected with about 3-5% emulsion of a rolling mill lubricant from the 1st tank 3 with a pump in the 1st stand 1 up to the 4th stand 2. The used emulsion of the rolling mill lubricant is received in a tray 4 and is recovered into the 1st tank 3, whereby it is recycled. In the final stand 5, the low concn. emulsion of about 0.5-1.5% rolling mill lubricant is supplied from the 2nd tank 6 to rolling rolls through a low pressure pump 7 and injection nozzles 8, and the emulsion is sprayed to both surfaces of the steel strip through a high pressure pump 9 and injection nozzles 10. The low concn. emulsion of the rolling mill lubricant is received in a tray 12, and is recovered into the tank 6, whereby it is recycled. After this, the steel plate 11 is annealed in the atmosphere which consists essentially of N2 and H2, is further mixed with steam and is controlled of 0-10 deg.C dew points, whereby the clean steel plate is obtained.
