Abstract

PURPOSE:To correctly control both speeds of a preceding material to be transported and a succeeding material to be transported even if the speed is changed midway bycontinuously pursuing both materials in controlling the speed of both materials in order that the succeeding mateial catches up with the preceding material. CONSTITUTION:A preceding material 1 to be transported and the succeeding material 2 are detected by position detectors 3, 4, 6 to detect both conveying speeds v11, v21 respectively, and the speed of the succeeding material 2 is determined by an interval l11 between both material. Both materials are pursued from a reference pursue control point to a catch-up point F, and the speed of the succeeding material is calculated by an arithmetic unit 12 and a comparator 13 so that the succeeding material catches up with the preceding material without shock, whereby even if the conveying speed of both materials is changed midway, such a following is correctly performed.
