Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled emulsion having excellent adhesion of a coating film to substrates and useful for bottle breakage-inhibiting paint, by mixing a blocked isocyanate, a polyol and an amine-modified epoxy resin together and dispersing the mixture in water.
CONSTITUTION: The titled emulsion is obtd. by blending a blocked isocyanate (A) having at least two blocked isocyanate groups in the molecule, a polyether polyol and/or polyester polyol (B) having at least two hydroxyl groups in the nolecule and an active hydrogen-contg. compd. (C) obtd. by reacting an epoxy resin with an amino compd. in such a proportion as to give a ratio of active hydrogen atoms in components B and C to blocked isocyanate groups in component A of 0.5W1.5, and then dispersing the resulting mixture in water. By using component C, adhesion of a coating film to substrates is improved. Even when the film is immersed in water over a long period of time, the film is not peeled off. A tert-amino nitrogen formed by the reaction of component B acts as a catalyst for a reaction between isocyanate group and OH group. Thus, a baking temperature for the coating film can be lowered and baking time can be shortened.
