Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an epoxy resin composition for powdered paint adapted for painting a steel pipe or the like and forming coating excellent in impact resistance or the like by containing rubber-modified epoxy resin obtained by reacting specifeid polyglycidyl ether with butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer and crosslinking agent.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. Polyglycidyl ether having epoxy equivalent of 500W 1,200 and softening point of 70W110°C obtained from bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) alkane and epihalohydrin is reacted with 10W50pts.wt. of liquid buradiene-acrylonitrile copolymer having terminal carboxyl group at 100W200°C in the presence of basic catalyst to thereby obtain a rubber-modified epoxy resin (A) having softening point of 80W120°C. Then, 100pts.wt. of this epoxy resin (A) is mixed with approx. 3W10pts.wt. Crosslinking agent (B) such as dicyandiamide or the like to thereby obtain the object epoxy resin composition for the powdered paint.
