Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide titled compsn. which can be cured at a low temp. and gives coating film exhibiting good performance, consisting essentially of a high-molecular satd. polyester resulting from the reaction of a specified polyester precondensate with an epoxy compd.
CONSTITUTION: (a) An acid component consisting of 80W20mol% arom. dibasic acid such as terephtalic acid or phthalic acid and 20W80mol% aliph. satd. dibasic acid such as adipic acid or sebacic acid, is reacted with (b) an aliph. satd. glycol such as ethylene glycol or propylene glycol in 0.9W1.1 molar ratio of b/a of to obtain a polyester precondensate (A) having carboxyl gp. and a 5W20 acid value. The carboxyl gp. of the polyester precondensate (A) is reacted with the epoxy gp. of a compd. (B) having two epoxy gps. per molecule such as bisphenol type epoxy resin in equivalent amount to obtain a high-molecular satd. polyester. A flow modifier and a pigment dispersant are blended with the polyester to obtain the desired paint resin compsn.
