Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide powdered painting material which excels in adhesiveness, chemical resistance, and mechanical characteristics, is quick-curable and exhibits a high degree of painting efficiency, by a method wherein dibasic acid hydrazide and a specified acidic org. cpd. are blended with a solid epoxy resin.
CONSTITUTION: (B) A dibasic acid hydrazide (e.g. succinic acid hydrazide, adipic acid hydrazide) and (C) an acidic org. cpd. having carboxyl gp. and/or phenolic hydroxyl gp. (e.g. stearic acid, catechol) are blended with (A) a solid epoxy resin having a softening point of 60W150°C, pref. 80W120°C and an epoxy eq. of 400W 2,000, pref. 600W1,500. The (B) component is used in such a proportion as to give active hydrogen atoms of 0.8W8, pref. 1.3W2 per one epoxy gp. of (A). The (C) component is used in an amount of 0.1W5pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of (A).
