Abstract

PURPOSE: The title curing agent having improved curing charactristics in water, obtained by reacting a specific polyester having acid residue with a specified amount of polyamine.
CONSTITUTION: A) A polyestr obtained by polycondensation of a) a dibasic acid, e.g., phthalic anhydride with b) a dihydric alcohol, e.g., ethylene glycol, in a molar ratio of a) to b) of 10:10.5W10:11. 5 is reacted with B) a polyamine, e.g., ethylenediamine, in an amount to give a ratio of numbers of acid in A to amine residue of 1:2W1:9 to produce the desired curing agent.
EFFECT: An epoxy resin coating compound blended with the desired curing agent provides a substrate in water with adhesiveness and long-time corrosion resistance.
