Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance an ink jetting efficiency by impressing on a piezoelectric element an electrical signal deprived of low frequency components including the low resonance frequency of a meniscus. CONSTITUTION:After removing the low frequency components including the low resonance frequency of the meniscus from an input signal (a) of a pulse width of T by feeding it into a high-pass filter 41, the output of the filter 41 is amplified by an amplifier 42 to obtain a signal (b). The signal (b) is impressed on a terminal 6 of the piezoelectric element 5 to change the volume of an ink chamber 4, thereby jetting an ink droplet from an orifice 1. Accordingly, the maximum displacement on the plus side of the meniscus can be increased, thereby enhancing the flying velocity of the ink droplet, and the maximum displacement on the minus side of the meniscus can be reduced, thereby preventing air bubbles from entering into the orifice. In addition, the residual vibration of the meniscus can be reduced.
